As usual, it largely comes down to the particular workloads for how much the Linux OS makes a difference -- especially when they are all fresh OS releases with close to the same kernel versions, compilers, etc.

Clear's optimizations don't pay off for all of the workloads but did for many of the tests.

OpenSUSE Leap 15 continuing to default to the GCC 7.5 compiler did hurt its performance in some of the tests, but newer compiler options are available for those not wanting to stick to the OS default.
