A Look At The RadeonSI/RADV Performance From Mesa 17.2 To Mesa 18.2
Serious Sam 3 BFE on Vulkan has regressed a bit with high quality settings at 1440p on Mesa 18.2-dev but the ultra quality run didn't seem to be affected.
The Talos Principle run was also a bit bumpy on the frame-rates.
From last year to today, the Radeon RX 580 is 9% faster on the latest Mesa at 1440p.
Or at 4K, a 8% improvement over the past year.
The gains over the past year are measurable in many instances with the Radeon RX 580, granted not as extreme as the RadeonSI/RAD driver improvements from 2016 to 2017 when they were still catching up with NVIDIA and the proprietary driver performance, but now they are nearing (or in some cases, at) that plateau. A similar comparison with RX Vega will be up shortly along with other interesting comparisons.
