AMD Ryzen, EPYC 5~6% Faster Out-Of-The-Box With Linux 5.11
Next is a look at some of the interesting benchmarks from the EPYC 7F72 2P Supermicro server with the new kernel.
From PostgreSQL and RocksDB to video encoding and machine learning benchmarks, the AMD EPYC 7F72 2P performance was faster on Linux 5.11 compared to 5.9/5.10 stable. Where there was a "loss" was mostly by incredibly slim margins - within the margin of error. All of those EPYC kernel benchmarks in full can be found via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file for these out-of-the-box kernel tests.
