While all three Ubuntu Linux releases are using EXT4 by default, the PostMark mail server performance has dropped off on this OCZ Core SSD when going from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to 12.xx.

For the computationally-focused tests, there are improvements in some of the workloads thanks to GCC 4.7 found in Ubuntu 12.10. Overall GCC 4.7 is a fantastic release and nearly across the board on many different processors I have seen nice performance improvements.

Though it looks like for the Intel Atom there's a performance regression for the Himeno Pressure Solver with GCC 4.7 / Ubuntu 12.10.
