For the popular scientific FFTE benchmark, the Core i7 3960X and Core i7 3770K were neck-and-neck with similar clock speeds. Meanwhile the AMD Llano and AMD Bulldozer were even slower than the Core i3 Sandy Bridge under Ubuntu Linux.

For GMPbench, the high-end desktop Ivy Bridge was overtaking the Sandy Bridge Extreme Edition by a small margin. This was also the same story for the Dhrystone 2 performance in BYTE.
