Linux vs. BSD CPU Scaling Up To 20 Threads On The Core i9 7900X
The PostgreSQL performance was the fastest on Clear Linux.
The Blender performance when rendering on the CPU didn't vary much between the tested operating systems.
Overall these results were interesting and hopefully answered some questions about Linux/BSD scaling at varying thread/core counts. If you are interested in seeing more data on more operating systems, including potentially Windows 10 WSL, express your interest by commenting on this article in the forums. If I get my hands on AMD ThreadRipper, I'll do similar tests there as well.
