HITMAN 3 Runs Well On Linux With Steam Play - Open-Source Radeon Performance Especially Good

Given the rather lax system requirements for a 2021~2022 game, the modern GPUs ran well with HITMAN 3 under Steam Play, especially at 1080p low quality settings... One of the most interesting aspects though right from the start was seeing how well the RADV Vulkan driver was performing with even the Radeon RX 6800 outperforming the GeForce RTX 3090 on Linux. The RX 6800 XT obviously led in these tests as the fastest Radeon graphics card available for testing at Phoronix. The Radeon graphics cards with the Mesa RADV driver were delivering very good performance against NVIDIA and their 495 series proprietary driver.

Even working up to 4K, the Radeon RX 6800 XT continued leading over the GeForce RTX 3090 for HITMAN 3 running on Linux with Steam Play thanks to Proton. The RADV performance was particularly strong. Let's move on now to the higher quality visuals...
