Mesa's RADV Vulkan Driver Holds A Narrowing Lead Over AMDVLK With Ubuntu 21.10 On Wayland
Quite quickly RADV continued to prove its ongoing prowess against the official AMDVLK open-source Vulkan driver...
Batman: Arkham Knight running on Steam Play with DXVK and then Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Vulkan with its new DXVK-Native path were two of the rare games where AMDVLK was performing about the same as Mesa's RADV driver.
While driving over to DiRT Rally 2.0 that runs on Linux via Steam Play with DXVK, the RADV driver raced ahead into a distant lead over AMDVLK.
F1 2020 as the latest F1 game running well on Linux via Steam Play (F1 2021's support continues to improve but is still too buggy in my tests), AMDVLK performed close to RADV for average frame-rates but had peak frame times much higher than RADV -- 27 ms vs 9 ms.
When increasing the resolution, RADV's lead in F1 2020 only widened.
