AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U Linux Performance

The Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U continues to feature Vega graphics like the other Zen 2 / Zen 3 notebooks tested. Depending upon the workload under Linux with the open-source OpenGL and Vuikan drivers, the performance generally pulls in between Intel's Gen11 Ice Lake and Gen12 Tiger Lake graphics.

Tiger Lake Gen12 graphics perform great and led in many of the benchmarks...

But in some graphics workloads the AMD Vega graphics can come close or outperform Gen12. It will be more interesting to see the next-gen AMD APUs with Navi 2 graphics.

In any case, for a Ryzen 7 PRO and a business-minded notebook, the Vega graphics performance under Linux should be "good enough" for desktop applications even at 4K and the like.
