When it comes to SilverStone Technology they have certainly branched out over the years with their product selection from a few attractive cases to a wide variety of enclosures, power supplies, cooling systems, accessories, storage, and audio. Opening up the shipping container, we were surprised to see the Storage MS02 encased in plastic packaging as all previous SilverStone products used a cardboard carton. On the cardboard insert found inside of the plastic packaging, the front side simply states the MS02 purpose -- being an external 2.5" HDD enclosure -- while on the opposite side is the features and specifications. The components included with the SilverStone MS02 were the manual, SilverStone BackupKingX driver & back-up software, carrying case, USB (dual-head) cable, and the actual 2.5" enclosure. With the device being completely powered by USB, no power adapters are required for operation. In addition, all of the cooling needs for the MS02 are passive due to the low amount of heat generated, while the MS01 uses a 30mm fan. In addition to the 3.5" MS01 and 2.5" MS02 models, each of these sizes also have a silver and black version for its aluminum chassis -- with the one we have today being the black variant.
