Opening up the ASUS P5LD2, we were left with an overwhelming number of parts. These major items consisted of:

· 1 x IEEE-1394 1-port module
· 1 x Serial (COM2) port module
· 1 x USB2.0 (2-ports) and GAME (1-port) module
· 5 x SATA data cables
· 2 x SATA power cables (dual plugs)
· 1 x SATA power cable (single plug)
· 2 x Ultra DMA/133 cables
· 1 x 40-conductor IDE cable
· 1 x Floppy disk drive cable
· 1 x I/O shield
· 1 x ASUS motherboard support CD
· 1 x InterVideo WinDVD Suite
· 1 x User's guide

In addition, shipping with the WiFi+TV Deluxe edition is a PCI 802.11g WiFi adapter with TV and FM tuner capabilities. Accompanying the WiFi and TV card is the external WiFi antenna and a wireless remote control with USB receiver. Although current-generation NVIDIA SLI drivers don't support the i945 Chipset included with the ASUS P5LD2 is a flexible SLI connector for bridging the onboard PCI Express x16 and x4 connectors. Another one of the appealing factors about the P5LD2 contents is the inclusion of Linux drivers on the ASUS CD! Yes, on the CD are Marvel Linux drivers (sk98lin) for the 2.4 and 2.6 kernels as well as Realtek ALC880/882 Linux audio drivers (R3.1) for kernel 2.2.14 or later. ASUS was also Linux compassionate enough to provide links to the driver download area for the LAN and audio drivers; due to the fast rate at which open source software moves. Great job ASUS with their Linux support and hopefully other vendors will begin to adopt alternative OS support to at least provide some documentation or drivers.
