Due to the number of different processors on the market and computer enthusiasts trying to push their CPU as far as possible while not spending hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars on a phase changing or even water cooling solutions, it's no wonder why the computer cooling market is saturated with so many air heatsinks. Today, we have yet another heatsink to throw into the pool of LGA775 heatsinks. This heatsink happens to be one of the latest offerings from CoolJag, the JAC84MC CPU Cooler.

Features:

Weight:750 grams
Dimensions:95 x 95 x 68 mm
Fan Dimensions:80 x 80 x 25 mm
Speed:3500 - 4200 RPM
Bearing:One Ball Bearing
Material:Copper

Contents:

Similar to the previously reviewed CoolJag JVC558A and 103C, the JAC84MC arrived in a badly beaten cardboard box. This box was entirely white except for a small blue arrow drawn in the corner, for unknown reasons. Opening up this container, we luckily found no signs of damage to the heatsink. The only two contents inside was the actual heatsink and a retention plate. This plate is to be placed on the underside of the LGA775 motherboard, for attaching to the heatsink.

Examination:

As the CoolJag JAC84MC is designed for Pentium 4 workstations and servers, the overall design of the heatsink is rather simplistic. Initially, the JAC84MC reminded us of the Cooler Master Vortex TX, with the mounting clips and compatibility being the part that distinguished the two CPU heatsinks. On top of the CoolJag heatsink is a simple black fan rated between 3500-4200RPM with PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). On the side of the heatsink, the copper fins can be seen along with the four mounting screws. These threaded mounting screws are inserted through the four standard Socket T mounting holes on the motherboard and connect to the CoolJag retention plate. Flipping the heatsink over, we see the base is fairly polished however, it doesn't have a mirror like finish and has a few noticeable imperfections. The fins and base are both composed of copper.
