Wine 1.7.0 Released, Starts Again With The Changes
With Wine 1.6 having been released two weeks ago with 10,000+ changes, we're now out of the code freeze and Wine 1.8 development has begun. Wine 1.7.0 was released today as the first version in this new development series.
Changes in this first post-1.6 development release include support for vertical text within Wine's PostScript driver, version two of liblcms is now used, Unicode has been updated to version 6.2.0, there's now hyperlink controls supported in installers, improved support for XML attributes, and various bug-fixes.
There are some Direct3D-related changes in Wine 1.7.0 too, but nothing major. There's also been no adoption yet of the new Linux support for the Direct3D 9 implementation.
More details on the Wine 1.7.0 changes can be found via the WineHQ.org announcement.
