Another X.Org EVoC Proposal - OpenCL
Another X.Org Endless Vacation of Code (EVoC) proposal has been submitted. This time around the proposal concerns OpenCL testing in Mesa.
X.Org EVoC is the X.Org Foundation sponsored alternative to Google's Summer of Code. X.Org EVoC has been around for a few years but is rarely ever advertised and only a few months ago was there even the first EVoC project. That first OpenCL Gallium3D project was a success. This program has become more important now that X.Org didn't make it in this year's Google Summer of Code.
Recently two more proposals came up for the Endless Vacation of Code by university students. These two proposals both concern better Nouveau GPU re-clocking support.
The latest EVoC proposal to now be sent in is for providing Piglit testing of OpenCL in Mesa. Piglit does the OpenGL unit/regression testing for Mesa already and with the Open Computing Language finally beginning to work in Mesa, test coverage is needed there. This student project seeks to do just that.
For those interested in this X.Org EVoC OpenCL testing proposal, it's found on the mesa-dev list.
For students interested in contributing to X.Org EVoC with something X.Org/Mesa/Gallium3D/Wayland related and be paid for it, check out the EVoC Wiki page.
