When it came to the OpenGL performance measured by the new GravityMark benchmark, the Windows vs. Linux performance atop NVIDIA's latest proprietary drivers was quite close. With the Vulkan benchmarks Windows tended to have a more significant lead.

At 1080p for Unigine Heaven the Windows performance was also out in front for the GeForce RTX 3090 graphics while at 4K the performance was near identical.

For GPU compute workloads like with Octane and RedShift, Linux tends to offer stronger performance. Between Windows 10 and Windows 11 for these NVIDIA graphics tests the performance tended to be similar given the same NVIDIA driver build.

One of the areas previously not explored for the NVIDIA Windows vs. Linux performance was Vulkan ray-tracing and on that front the performance at least with RTIV is quite similar but largely expected given the shared NVIDIA driver code-base.

With the ParaView workstation visualization software, Ubuntu continues to exhibit a strong lead over Windows.

Anyhow, that's the NVIDIA graphics look between operating systems with the GeForce RTX 3090... No real surprises, let's move on to other areas.
