Switching from the X Render to OpenGL back-end with QGears2, the image scaling performance here hadn't improved by two fold, but in fact it was relatively stable throughout the year.

The OpenGL performance in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was also nearly the same except it had jumped by three frames per second with the most recent 180.11 beta driver. This three-frame improvement on the GeForce 8600GTS equates to being faster by more than 10%.

The performance in Planet Penguin Racer had stayed the same throughout the 171.05, 171.06, 173.08, 177.82, and 180.11 beta drivers.
