The power consumption when running the OpenArena game is up by 14% between the two kernels in question.

When the CPU is busy with OpenSSL, the power consumption in the Linux 2.6.38/2.6.39 kernels is up by 14%.

For those wondering if this increase in power consumption at least brings faster performance, it does not. The complete results from the numbers being published today can be found in the OpenBenchmarking.org result file that show no major changes in performance from the kernel upgrades.
