Compressing a 2GB file using LZMA compression resulted in a slim margin between the quite expensive solid-state drive and the low-cost hard disk drive.

Encoding an MP3 file using LAME was about 5% faster when using the X25-E Extreme over the ST9200420AS HDD. The FFmpeg video encoding benchmark resulted in a slightly smaller lead with the Intel SSD as well.
