Intel OpenGL Performance: OS X vs. Windows vs. Linux

For the last DarkPlaces-powered Xonotic benchmark, OS X 10.8 came in line with the Ubuntu Linux graphics performance for Sandy Bridge. Windows 7 though still maintained its lead -- this time it came out 44% faster than the latest open-source Intel driver code.

With Nexuiz we see Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.10 coming out ahead of Windows 7! Except with the latest Intel Linux graphics driver code, there happens to be a regression in the Intel Mesa DRI driver that totally knocks down the Nexuiz performance. Ubuntu goes from being the frontrunner in Nexuiz to now being in last place with being behind OS X and Windows. If they can fix the regression prior to releasing Mesa 8.1/9.0, Ubuntu Linux will hopefully be back to running faster than OS X and Windows for this deprecated open-source game.
