There was a major performance regression between xf86-video-intel 2.9.1 and 2.11.0 or in the DRM changes from Ubuntu Lucid to Maverick with the 12pt text LCD test, but with the latest DDX driver update the performance has improved significantly compared to the 2.11 release but it's still behind where it was at with Ubuntu 10.04.

Turning to QGears2 with the X Render back-end using the Gears test, this forthcoming driver was just 10% faster than the 2.11 release but 17% faster than Lucid's Intel stack.

Next with the GTK tool-kit and the GtkPerf test, the Maverick xf86-video-intel 2.11.901 number was about 9% better than with the xf86-video-intel 2.11.0 release when looking at just the GtkComboBox widget.

While the GtkComboBox widget test did better by just a couple percent, with the GtkDrawingArea Circles test there was a 48% difference between the Intel 2.11 and 2.12 RC1 driver releases.
