When loading down the system with various reads/writes and measuring the time to launch xterm using the startup-time benchmark, the MP510 was the fastest and surprisingly beat the Samsung NVMe SSDs... Granted the times were under one second to begin with for these high performance drives so users wouldn't really notice a difference. The MP510 performance was much stronger than the MP500 and especially the SATA 3.0 SSDs.

The start-up time of LibreOffice was also the quickest on the MP510 while having reads/writes happening in the background with this test profile created by Linux BFQ developer Paolo Valente.

While running the basic SQLite benchmark for this widely-used embedded database library, the Intel 800p SSD was faster while the MP510 still pulled ahead of the Samsung 950/970 NVMe SSDs for a second place finish.
