OpenArena was another test where more performance gains were witnessed. Between Catalyst 8.1 and 8.12 is a 43% jump in performance. In Catalyst 8.6 was the first jump in performance that remained elevated through Catalyst 8.9 until it regressed dramatically in the 8.10 release. This regression though was quickly addressed since in Catalyst 8.11 it had popped significantly. It was a 77% jump in performance between 8.10 and 8.11.

With World of Padman, which is another ioquake3 engine game, the performance had also improved but not by a large margin. Over the course of the year the performance had improved about 14%.

The performance in Unreal Tournament 2004 had actually regressed slightly over the Catalyst 8.x series drivers. There is about a 4% drop between Catalyst 8.1 and 8.11, but with 8.12 there was a small gain squeezing more performance out of the Radeon HD 3870.
