With Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, which is the most demanding native Linux game currently available, we had noticed a slight increase over the course of the monthly driver releases. In fact, there is a 10% improvement from Catalyst 8.1 to Catalyst 8.12. Catalyst AI is an advantage in this test.

While Planet Penguin Racer isn't exactly a very popular game, its performance had improved greatly this year with the Catalyst driver. Between Catalyst 8.7 and 8.8 there was a 60% increase in the frame-rate! This frame-rate remained high and continues to be over 60% faster than at the start of the year.

Tremulous, which is based upon the open-source Quake 3 engine, had exhibited a stable frame-rate in all of the drivers tested. There is though about a 6% boost spotted between Catalyst 8.11 and 8.12.
