Ubuntu 17.10 AMD Radeon vs. NVIDIA GeForce GPU Comparison

With the triangle micro-benchmark that's a function of video memory performance, the Fiji and Vega hardware with their HBM/HBM2 memory perform extremely well as expected.

Well, that's the results for those curious how 34 graphics cards old and new can run under Ubuntu 17.10. Again, the range of tests was limited by finding the OpenGL games/benchmarks that could still run on RV770 and Fermi class hardware while still scaling up through the modern Vega and Pascal graphics hardware. If you want to see how your own Linux system(s) compare, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1711014-AL-UBUNTU17142.
