Solidigm P41 Plus NVMe SSD
Kicking things off with FIO and 4K random reads using IO_uring, the P41 Plus drives understandably come near the bottom of the race given the SSDs at hand that were freshly re-tested.
The Solidigm P41 Plus 2TB achieved around 318k random reads with this IO_uring test configuration while the P41 Plus 1TB was much lower at 208k, but not all that surprising given that the P41 Plus is focused on affordability for this DRAM-less QLC SSD.
For carrying out 4K random writes with IO_uring measured by FIO, the results weren't all that bad and delivering similar performance to the WD_BLACK SN750 SE 1TB drive.
When factoring in the current retail prices of the P41 Plus and current prices on the existing drives, it shows the value of the P41 Plus drives.
The sequential read and sequential write performance of the P41 Plus drives were right ahead of the WD_BLACK SN750 SE 1TB.
On a performance-per-dollar basis,, the P41 Plus 1TB in particular was delivering decent value at $89 USD.
