When moving over to the Vulkan renderer with the RADV Mesa driver, there is a larger margin that NVIDIA wins by in their tests.

At least when pushing the hardware to 4K, the AMD OpenGL results are a bit more competitive and no longer lose across the board to the GTX 1050. But with the RADV Vulkan results, the R9 Fury is running at the same speed as the GTX 1050.
