First is the application start-up time test profile written by BFQ's Paolo Valente of Linaro. With sequential reads and writes background I/O background, xterm had the quickest startup when using Kyber followed by no I/O scheduler and then much further out were CFQ and BFQ.

BFQ low_latency meanwhile led to the quickest startup of GNOME Terminal when encountering background I/O of sequential reads.

Or CFQ and BFQ low_latency yielding the quickest startups of GNOME Terminal when encountering random reads and writes in the background.

LibreOffice Writer was starting up the quickest with BFQ low_latency and CFQ in the different conditions.
