Microsoft Windows Server Benchmarked Against Six Linux Distributions

With SQLite on Windows Server 2019 its performance is faster than openSUSE Tumbleweed with its default configuration leveraging Btrfs. Among the EXT4 Linux distributions, there wasn't much of a performance difference.

7-Zip performance continues to be much faster on Linux than Windows while Intel's own Clear Linux stole the show with its leading performance on the dual Xeon rig.

For the multi-threaded Crafty chess benchmark, Windows Server 2019 sees similar performance to the other Linux distributions.

In the case of the Stockfish chess benchmark, the performance is effectively the same as the other Linux distributions though with Clear Linux and openSUSE Tumbleweed having a slight performance advantage.
