There isn't much change out of the older Warsow 0.61 release with Mesa 8.1-devel on Intel "Gen6" hardware, but the latest Warsow 1.0 release does appear to have a little boost out of this newer open-source code.

Xonotic with high quality settings did see a small performance improvement for Intel Sandy Bridge HD 3000 graphics on Mesa 8.1-devel.

While Sandy Bridge isn't seeing dramatic performance improvements in Mesa 8.1, compared to the performance-enhancing Mesa 8.0 release from early in 2012, at least there aren't the drops in performance with this upcoming Mesa release like was witnessed with the latest-generation Intel Ivy Bridge hardware.

More benchmarks of Mesa 8.1 are forthcoming with its official release due out in mid-August.
