Next up was the Python AI Benchmark that leverages TensorFlow. The overall AI score positioned the i7-1165G7 between the Ryzen 5 4500U and the Ryzen 7 4700U. The AI training performance of the Tiger Lake CPU exceeded the 4700U while for inferencing had fallen behind the 4500U. While the Tiger Lake CPU struggles to compete with the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, at least going from the i7-1065G7 to i7-1165G7 was a healthy 26% improvement.

For ASTC texture encoding performance for creators, the i7-1165G7 was much faster than the Ice Lake and Whiskey Lake Dell XPS laptops but still slower than even the Ryzen 5 4500U with its six cores.

AVIF image encoding was in a similar boat with the Ryzen 5 4500U outperforming the Core i7 1165G7.

With the BRL-CAD solid modeling system the Core i7 1165G7 performance came up short of the Ryzen 5 4500U... Not too surprising though given that even the Ryzen 5 4500U has six cores to the i7-1165G7 still being a 4 core / 8 thread configuration.
