GCC 8 & LLVM Clang 6.0 Compiler Performance On AMD EPYC - November 2017
FFTW continues to maintain a small lead with GCC over the Clang-generated binaries. In some FFTW instances, GCC 8 is providing a small increase in performance over GCC 7.
SciMark2 overall is close in performance.
A Monte Carlo regression is fixed by GCC 8.
The newer Clang and GCC development compilers do provide small boosts in performance in some scenarios.
