Radeon Gallium3D Performance Gets Close To Catalyst On Ubuntu 14.04

With the Plot3D synthetic test within GpuTest, the RadeonSI Gallium3D performance was just over 50% the speed of Catalyst.

When running Furmark the open-source graphics performance was close to Catalyst.

In the GpuTest Triangle case that's mostly pushing the vRAM bandwidth, the RadeonSI performance was very low compared to Catalyst.

While there's still issues to work out in supporting more OpenGL 4 extensions, a few bugs to work out in the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver stack, and more optimizations to squeeze, along with other unrelated work like improving the OpenCL capabilities of the open-source driver, overall the Radeon Gallium3D driver stack shipped in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is in great shape. The R600 Gallium3D driver with HD 5000/6000 series graphics cards is still the current sweet spot for the best open-source AMD driver support, but RadeonSI has improved a lot recently for providing a decent open-source experience on AMD's GCN (HD 7000 series and newer) GPUs.
