When it comes to game-play there is an invisibility power-up that has been added along with a reward system, weapon inventory is shown in the heads-up display, new effects, bots using alt-fire in vehicles, and new weapon icons. Some of the added and improved in-game effects are for shockwave weapons, CTF flag capture, rotating particles, bloodstains, and bullet holes. An anti-lag feature has also been added to Alien Arena 2008. When it comes to Linux and Alien Arena 2008 there is now support for the Linux/X11 clipboard, directory support, and windowed mouse fixes. Three new maps also made their way into version 7.20 and they include dm-liberation, ctf-cryogenic, and tca-cryogenic.

Alien Arena 2008 7.20 is currently available for Windows and Linux platforms with a Mac OS X version currently in the works. The graphics rendering is definitely much better in version 7.20 of this game and they are now much on the same stage as Nexuiz. More information on this game (and download links) can be found on the Alien Arena web-site.
