Vantec NexStar 3

Examination:

When opening the Vantec NexStar 3 we were very impressed by its appearance as well as apparent build quality. The NexStar 3 is not much larger than the size of the 3.5" hard drive itself and the aluminum exterior was quite appealing. The exterior of the drive is quite simple and something that we had not minded. The Vantec NexStar 3 can be setup in a vertical or horizontal orientation.

On the front of the drive enclosure is a Vantec logo, which illuminates during drive activity. At the rear of the NexStar 3 are a power switch, power connector, USB 2.0 connector, and eSATA. Removing two screws from the rear of the drive enclosure will allow access to the inside of the enclosure. On the inside are the Serial ATA power and data connectors along with the LED cable.
