As has been the case for some time now, between driver releases we have not seen any noticeable performance gains or losses. In our selected benchmarks the frame-rate remained virtually the same between the 8.31.5 and 8.32.5 display drivers. While for the most part this release was not very exciting, it had appended (partial) support for X.Org 7.2 and support for the Radeon X1950 family. There were also a slew of bugs that were fixed in this release. While we will save all of the details for our ATI AYiR 2006 article due out later this month, 2006 was the best year yet when it comes to the Linux fglrx display drivers and 2007 will also have some very exciting things in store.
