First up were the ParaView benchmarks for this workstation visualization software. The performance of Windows 10 to the Linux distributions was for the most part comparable but with a few wins in favor of the Microsoft OS. Windows 10 did perform better than Clear Linux and openSUSE Tumbleweed in some of the tests while effectively tieing with Ubuntu and Fedora. CentOS in some of these workstation graphics tests did run slower, likely due to the older drivers on CentOS/RHEL 8. In ParaView's wavelet contour test, Windows 10 did perform stronger than Linux -- this might be one of the cases of better driver support.

When running various Java benchmarks with OpenJDK 11 at play on all of the operating systems, Windows 10 did come in last for some of the test cases but did compete well (and sometimes win) with the other Linux distributions in others.

With the industry SPECjbb Java benchmark, Windows 10 at least was running with the slowest of the Linux distributions for this commercial benchmark.
