Although in many instances, computer enthusiasts enjoy having as many mice, monitors, and keyboards as possible, for each of their computers in some situations it's simply not possible. This could be due to the financial costs involved, lack of room in your home/apartment, or simply the additional clutter left behind with the extra peripherals. Whatever the case may be KVM (Keyboard Video and Monitor) switches can eliminate the need for these extra devices. These type of switches have been around for about 20 years in data centers, but only over the past few years the demand for KVM switches in the consumer market has risen, as more people own multiple computers. The KVM device up for examination today, is the ATake EasyView 2-port USB All-in-one mini KVM switch (AUB-MI102).

After removing the plastic packaging, we were left with the actual AUB-MI102 KVM switch and the user's manual. The user's manual with this product was more like a small pamphlet, being a single sheet of paper folded into three sections; nevertheless, KVM switches are pretty much self-explanatory. All of the necessary cables required to operate the switch are included, and no external power adapter is required unlike other KVM switches on the market.
