Working Towards Lower OpenGL Driver Overhead
Today at the Game Developer's Conference was an interesting session with OpenGL developers from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA jointly talking about reducing OpenGL driver overhead.
The session synopsis was previously covered on Phoronix within Intel, AMD, NVIDIA Working To Reduce OpenGL Overhead. I was at this GDC session in San Francisco today thanks to AMD. While I will have more of my GDC 2014 write-ups later (including AMD's changing Linux strategy), the slides of this interesting presentation have now been posted online.
If you're interested in approaching zero driver overhead driver for Intel/AMD/NVIDIA hardware with your OpenGL game or application, you can view the slides right now on SlideShare.net. A video presentation of this talk is also expected later with this being a sponsored session by NVIDIA at the Game Developer's Conference.
