Starting off with BioShock Infinite, using the Radeon Software 18.40 release led to much slower performance. Using Mesa 18.2.3 also led to a performance regression compared to the stock Ubuntu 18.04 environment. Fortunately, with the latest Mesa 18.3-devel Git code is where the fastest performance was found for this game.

Civilization VI was a big performance drop with Radeon Software 18.40 while this was another game where the latest Linux 4.19 kernel and Mesa 18.3-devel build was delivering the fastest performance.

Using Dota 2 with Radeon Software 18.40 components led to a big performance drop while of the other open-source drivers there wasn't much change.

With the Dota 2 Vulkan renderer there wasn't any measurable change in performance.
