Intel Sandy Bridge Gets A Surprise Boost From Linux 3.17

Sandy Bridge graphics remain too slow for running many more demanding OpenGL games/benchmarks, but at least the performance is going in the right direction and it will be interesting to see the Linux 3.17 numbers for Ivy Bridge and Haswell.

Small but measurable.

Urban Terror saw some of the most significant increases in performance out of the Linux 3.17 kernel. Fortunately, the Sandy Bridge hardware is plenty capable of these ioquake3-era tests that are popular with open-source game developers.
