Ultimately it comes down to what workloads are most important to you whether one Linux distribution definitively makes sense in the out-of-the-box Linux performance realm. At least for the common Celeron use-case of just a system for web browser usage, using Intel's Clear Linux did provide some measurable benefit there especially with Mozilla Firefox and to a lesser extent was there a Google Chrome difference between Linux OS distributions.
