For those curious how the latest open-source AMDGPU+RadeonSI driver code is comparing to yesterday's AMDGPU-PRO 16.50 release, here are some fresh OpenGL Linux driver benchmarks from a few AMD graphics cards.

AMDGPU-PRO 16.50 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS was compared to the latest open-source AMD graphics driver stack with Mesa 13.1-dev built against LLVM 4.0 SVN (via the Padoka PPA) and paired with the latest Linux 4.9 Git kernel.

The tests were done with a Radeon R9 285, Radeon RX 460, Radeon RX 480, and Radeon R9 Fury graphics cards. All of these tests were done with the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software. This article is just looking at the OpenGL performance: yesterday were some quick RADV/AMDGPU-PRO Vulkan benchmarks while more Vulkan API tests coming up shortly.
