How AMD's Proprietary Linux Driver Evolved In 2015

These 14.12 vs. 15.12 proprietary driver tests were done from the same Haswell-E system running Ubuntu 14.10.

The only change during testing was swapping out Catalyst 14.12 Omega for Radeon Software 15.12 Crimson. All tests were done with a Radeon R9 290 Hawaii graphics card.

A variety of OpenGL Linux benchmarks were run that could be tested on both of the drivers -- BioShock Infinite, DiRT Showdown, OpenArena, Tesseract, Team Fortress 2, Unigine Valley, Xonotic, and GpuTest.
