Steam Deck vs. ASUS ROG Ally Arch Linux Gaming Performance

Interestingly with F1 22 on Steam Play, the Steam Deck was slightly faster than the ROG Ally when looking at the out-of-the-box performance. With the performance ACPI Platform Profile it easily sided with the Z1 Extreme powered handheld

The performance ACPI Platform Profile though does dramatically drive-up the power usage of the Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC.

The HITMAN 3 performance on these handhelds showed a slight advantage out of the box with the ROG Ally and better frame times while this Windows game via Steam Play saw dramatic performance improvements when tested with the performance ACPI Platform Profile.

The Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC power consumption about doubles on average compared to the default balanced mode and the peak power use goes up to around 50 Watts for the SoC alone.
