Radeon Software 18.50 vs. Linux 4.20 + Mesa 19 Benchmarks On The AMD RX 590
With the aging BioShock Infinite OpenGL-powered Linux game port, the Mesa-based driver was 10% faster than the proprietary AMD OpenGL driver in the 18.50 package. The minimum FPS was significantly different too with the RadeonSI driver yielding a minimum frame-rate of 37 FPS compared to 6 on the closed-source GL driver.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was 20% faster on average with the Mesa RadeonSI driver stack compared to 18.50, but there was a higher peak frame-time with that driver.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was significantly faster with RadeonSI OpenGL from Mesa 19.0-dev compared to Radeon Software for Linux 18.50 on the RX 590 Polaris graphics card.
