As already covered last week, Team Fortress 2 is the only test where the Nouveau driver could outperform the NVIDIA blob.

Even with Xonotic, Nouveau was pacing well behind the proprietary driver.

The GeForce GTX 680 on Nouveau remained the most competitive when re-clocked relative to where it was performing with the NVIDIA 364 driver. If that interests you as one of the better performing NVIDIA graphics cards on Nouveau and doesn't require any signed firmware blobs, you can still find the GeForce GTX 680 for sale at Amazon and other Internet retailers. The GTX 760 and GTX 780 Ti open vs. closed-source driver performance wasn't nearly as competitive, but at least they are doing better than the GTX 900 series that doesn't have any re-clocking support for now.
