Mesa 13.0 vs. 17.0 Performance For RADV/RadeonSI: Big Gains For Vulkan, OpenGL Boosts

Dota 2 saw better OpenGL performance with the RX 480....

But where Dota 2 does much better with Mesa 17.0 is under Vulkan. The RADV driver saw many improvements during the Mesa 17.0 cycle, including exposing more Vulkan features, and is faster than when it initially premiered in Mesa 13.0. The RADV boosts with Dota 2 on the RX 480 and R9 Fury were particularly striking.

To some surprise, ET: Legacy even sees much faster performance with Mesa 17.0 over Mesa 13.0.

With the old OpenArena game, meanwhile, the RX 480 and R9 Fury saw faster performance while the RX 460 had regressed.
