Open-Source AMD/NVIDIA GPU Tests On Linux 4.1 + Mesa 10.7-dev
With Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the open-source drivers, the high-end AMD GPUs going back a few generations delivered playable performance at 1080p: the HD 6870/6950/290 delivered 60+ results while strangely the Radeon HD 7950 performance was rather low. The Radeon R7 370 also had some difficulties in hitting 60 FPS. On the Nouveau driver side, only the partially re-clocked GeForce GTX 680 was delivering sufficient results for online gaming.
With games like Metro 2033/LastLight Redux not working on the open-source driver stack, here's a classic OpenArena run... Playable results across the board except for the GeForce GTX 750 Ti being stuck to its boot frequencies.
Team Fortress 2 ended up being rather CPU bottle-necked on these Gallium3D drivers but was playable at 1080p for these NVIDIA/AMD graphics cards except for the GTX 750 Ti Maxwell.
