While the Kubuntu Focus isn't as thin as the current Dell XPS or others, at least it does allow for good cooling performance. Under the course of a variety of workloads, the average system temperature was 55 degrees with a peak of 77 degrees. The CPU temperature was similar with a peak of 80 degrees, not as bad as the current Dell XPS easily hitting the 90s under load.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 did consistently stick to the 40s even under GPU load was just hitting the upper 40s.

The power consumption varied from about 17 Watts at idle to a peak of 65 Watts during gaming and heavy multi-threaded workloads while the average power draw for the laptop was 37 Watts.

For those wanting to see the tests run during the sensor monitoring and other metrics can be found via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file. But long story short, the laptop kept cool and could more easily endure heavy workstation/gaming workloads compared to the Dell XPS and other ultrabooks that tend to hit thermal throttling quite quickly.
