Coming up soon on Phoronix will be benchmarks showing how the Sandy/Ivy Bridge performance has evolved with time. Again, I wouldn't expect any too many more breakthrough performance improvements for these graphics cores in the open-source Linux driver anytime soon unless there's some fundamental code restructuring or Intel decides to invest significantly more in their open-source graphics stack. For Intel's team right now they're mostly focused on Haswell, Valley View / Bay Trail, and next year's Broadwell enablement.
